Load Coordinator

1.      Load Coordinators are required to take phone and email pick-up orders from customers, shippers, consignees, and 3rd parties.  Load Coordinators must confirm pick-up and delivery times with shippers and consignees.  All data is acquired and entered into a Transportation Management software program. 

 

2.      You will be required to contact carriers for pick-ups and deliveries and negotiate pay.  Carrier information (Insurance, Authority, and etcetera) is gathered and input into the Transportation Management software program.  Rate agreements, transportation contracts, and other general information are sent to carriers via fax and email. 

 

3.      Dispatch drivers for pick-ups and deliveries, giving directions and other detailed information when required.

 

4.      Document and initiate check-calls and follow-up with drivers who are in route, insuring things are progressing on time. 

 

5.      Set up new carriers with carrier contracts and information packets.  Acquire phone numbers, addresses, and other pertinent information about carrier’s equipment and service areas.  Fax or email all pertinent information.  Develop and maintain good relations with existing carriers.

 

6.      Work in various computer software programs, (Outlook, Word, Excel, Web-related software, and Transportation Management software) creating and maintaining records and inputting information for future usage, as needed and directed. 

 

7.      Call present and potential customers for additional or new business (telemarketing) as assigned or instructed by management.

 

8.      Any and all other duties associated with business as assigned by President, Vice President of Operations, or Lead Coordinator.

 

9.      The position may be assigned accounts to nurture and grow, after an introductory period of time. 

 

10.  In the beginning, the pay structure is based on an hourly wage, but as the job progresses, and as the person matures into the job, the pay may develop into a base hourly wage, plus incentives based on maintaining and growing assigned accounts and newly developed accounts.
