Description:

The Distribution Industrial Engineer provides engineering support for new business development.  Specific duties include:Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency operations.Participates in the development of pricing models for business development initiatives.Develops and evaluates facility layout, operational data, and process flow charts to improve productivity and efficiency.  Provides cost savings associated with facility layout changes.Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.  Standards responsibilities include: forklift picks, packages loaded per hour, cycle counts per hour, and line items picked per hour.Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as: restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.Prepares reports on warehouse capacity, utilization, and forecast requirements (i.e. material consolidation, bin utilization, etc.).

Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent in either Engineering or Science discipline preferred.A minimum of 3 years demonstrated working knowledge of Warehouse and Distribution processing techniques and technologies required.Strong working knowledge of modern materials handling, systems, and equipment necessary.Computer proficiency in MS Office and CAD required.Ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills.
