Import/Export Coordinator, Cherry Hill, NJ

Job Summary:  We are currently seeking an Import/Export Coordinator for a National 3PL Leader in the Cherry Hill area. The Import/Export Coordinator manages Import and Export shipments from start to completion. Enters shipment information and prepares billing upon confirmation of delivery. Supports DIL in obtaining quotes for various modes of domestic and international transportation and otherwise relieves the DIL from administrative and day to day shipment coordination. Ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of Domestic LTL and FTL pricing as well as load coordination.  Duties and Responsibilities   Creates requests for rates correspondence and follows up on those requests. Creates load tenders and distributes them to the appropriate transportation provider and follows up on those requests by tracking them to delivery. Prepares rate quotations, file them and follow-up on missing information or requests for additional pricing. Composes and types routine correspondence and memoranda using word processing software. Opens mail correspondence and accurately identifies invoices for payment. Resolves payment discrepancies and prevents invoicing errors. Makes copies, creates documents and packages for distributing export documentation. Provides day to day shipment tracking, customer service and problem resolution of exception orders.   Performs other related duties as required.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  Knowledge of various transportation modes, transportation providers and ability to communicate relevant shipment information to those parties. Knowledge of import and export regulations, domestic transportation modes and pricing methodology. Skilled in using a personal computer and various software packages.   Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision. Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.  Credentials and Experience  Associate or Bachelors degree preferred. A minimum of 5 years experience handling the coordination of either import or export shipments or a combination of the two. Domestic LTL and FTL pricing as well as Load tendering experience.  Special Requirements: Ability to work a flexible schedule based on shipment volume.
