Experienced Trucking Dispatcher

JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates pick up and delivery of loads w/ customers, driver and co-workers; Assures delivery of freight to customers on time and to the customers’ satisfaction.  Maintains and increases customer base and drivers.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Strategic Development: -  Markets the company image-  Understands geography, customers, and potential. Operational Excellence:-  Ensures all driver loads are covered and on time -  Confirms drivers have the right equipment for their pick ups -  Requests needed paperwork for loads-  Traces loads/ Shipments-  May manage freight volume if issues arise-  Monitors equipment to movie it as quickly as possible to reduce per diem costs for empty equipment-  Performs or serves as back up for yard checks-  Issues keys, record sheets, and credentials to drivers-  Monitors on-time performance-  Prepare tracking reports for customers Customer Development:  -  Communicates with customers/customer service departments regarding scheduling appointments and problems that arise with pikc up or delivery of loads; works to ensure customer is satisfied  - Enter customer load into system; update loads when drivers call in  -   Coordinates with vendors for equipment repairs Organizational Effectiveness:-  Plans drivers’ dispatch, assigning loads to drivers according to needs and driver capabilities-  Communicates with drivers to give dispatch instructions-  Assists drivers in resolving problems-  Receives instruction and assistance from superior as needed-  Communicates driver issues to supervisor-  Coordinates with other terminals to meet customer needs and ensure all pick ups are made  Financial Performance:- Prevents any unnecessary company charges or liabilities- Maintains record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses REQUIREMENTS:-  2-4 years experience in Intermodal Transportation Industy necessary-  Associate’s degree or equivalent from technical school or institution-  Ability to use various computer systems-  Excellent communication, both written and verbal-  Ability to read and interpret business reports and daily logs-  Ability to work under moderate supervision-  Flexible – able to work in fast-paced environment-  Ability to work long hours if necessary to handle special customer requests.  Company: RoadLink USA Location: Albany, NY 12202 Status: Full Time, Employee Shift: First Shift (Day), Second Shift (Afternoon) Job Category: Logistics/Transportation Relevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Industry: Transport and Storage - Materials Education Level: Associate Degree Occupations: Vehicle Dispatch, Routing and Scheduling Industry: Transport and Storage - Materials Email: ckenney@roadlink.com
