Entry Writer SUMMARY Coordinates the documentation required by US Customs and Border Protection for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers via GeoLogistics Customs House Brokerage services. Serves as the single point of coordination (i.e. “Customs Broker”) between import customers and US Customs and Border Protection. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Scanning/Faxing Documents Phone and Email Communication Ensures import compliance in accordance with U.S. Import, and GeoLogistics regulations and policies. Follow-up on operational problems Assists in solving inter-company and vendor accounting issues. Prepares required documentation, classification, and submission to US Customs and Border Protection. Coordinates with import breakbulk departments to ensure accurate entries are filed in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff. QUALIFICATIONS: In order to be considered, applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and submit an application or resume with letter of interest. Applicants must possess proof of authorization to work in the United States. External applicants must be willing to authorize a background investigation and drug screen test as part of the employment process. EXPERIENCE Industry experience a plus AS400 Experience a plus Strong PC skills (Excel, Word) Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, attention to detail Resistant to stress in an high-paced work environment Generally 1-3 years Entry Writer experience. Familiarity with basic accounting principles, understanding of the Harmonized Tariff and product classification, and basic entry writing knowledge. Broker s license a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS English is the principal language for this position. The position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment. COMPUTER SKILLS Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other technical software. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The ability to sit or stand for long periods, and use a computer, including a mouse, keyboard and monitor, with or without reasonable accommodations.
