Journalism MTA Long Island Rail Road is currently seeking the following professionals:EDITORIAL OFFICERThis position is responsible for supporting the Customer Correspondence Unit, which includes writing responses to customer letters, emails, and comment cards. Duties also include responding to customer telephone calls and performing research related to customer issues. This position also supports editorial projects in Public Affairs, including posters and announcements, and other customer and employee communications. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Journalism or a related field, recent, related editorial experience and exceptional research and reporting skills.PUBLICATIONS OFFICERThis position is responsible for researching, writing and editing the employee's newspaper, the weekly employee newsletter, and other publications. The Publications Officer will also provide ideas and copy for informational items that appear on the LIRR web site. Writing of posters and announcement to inform LIRR customers of important service changes or capital projects that affect their daily commute is included in the duties of this position. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Journalism or a related field along with seven years of prior work experience in a writing or editing capacity. Strong writing and editing skills are essential.
