Dependable Jockey/Trailer Mechanic

JOB SUMMARY: Transport units to and from inbound and outbound trains, park trailers in desginated areas, and stage out bound loads as necessary.  May also perform the duties of a trailer mechanic by assesing any damage done to Roadlink equipment and following the correct processes to repair & maintain that equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(other job duties may be assigned)  Strategic Development: -  Markets the company image-  Develops their surrounding area-  Understands geography, customers, and potential. Operational Excellence:  -   Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on all equipment -   Shuttle trailers, chassis and containers to and from designated areas within the yard-  Properly hook trailers and chassis ensuring units do not fall from jockey trucks in transport-  Repair containers/chassis/trailers as drivers bring them to the shop ensuring repairs are done completely and in a timely fashion.  - Repairs may include:  - Tire repairs and service  - Welding/torching  - Electrical wiring/replacing lights  - replacingstraightening twist locks Organizational Effectiveness:-  Report any damages of defects to Load Planner to fill out the log-  Assist any drivers with units that they may be having trouble hooking to -  Work closely with other machine operators to ensure all process and transport runs smoothly and efficiently-  Report any equipment damagae, incidents or unsafe conditions to Terminal Manger when noticed-  Perform Federal Inspections (FHWA) according to AAR rules-  Complete any required safety training and follow all company guideline relating to safety    REQUIREMENTS:-  High School Diploma or GED Equivalent  -  Experience as mechanic or terminal yard associate  -  Strong problem-solving and reasoning ability  -  Excellent communication, both written and verbal  -  Must be able to provide own set of tools  -  Detail-oriented and quality conscious-  Ability to work in all conditions – work does require bein exposed to outside conditions Company: RoadLink USA Location: Bethlehem, PA 18017 Status: Full Time, Employee Shift: First Shift (Day), Second Shift (Afternoon) Job Category: Logistics/Transportation Relevant Work Experience: 1+ to 2 Years Career Level: Entry Level Industry: Transport and Storage - Materials Education Level: High School or equivalent Occupations: Equipment/Forklift/Crane Operation Industry: Transport and Storage - Materials Email: bmcconnell@roadlink.com
