Job Summary Perform all tractor and trailer repair estimation diagnosis and correction following standard operating procedures (SOP’s). Completes routine rebuilds and replacements, makes best value and safety decisions to continue to operate, repair or replace, and performs technical repairs and/or replacement. Uses American Trucking Association (ATA) system and other published and internet-based manuals and check sheets.  Essential Duties & Responsibilities:1.  Follows workplace and vehicle safety procedures consistently.2.  Follows MSDS training and guidelines.3.  Able to perform proper Preventive Maintenance  - lube, filters, inspection – includes truck appearance, interior and exterior, cab related, safety, security  4.  Basic electrical – repair and replace starters/alternators/batteries5.  Tires – tread, inflation, rotation, wear, recondition wheels6.  Inspect & replace basic engine components7.  Understand Shop security and alarm systems8.  Follow good housekeeping standards9.  Perform Emergency Road Calls10. Proficient at brake diagnostic/repair& replace/adjustments11. Direct/Indirect labor accountability (completing personal paperwork)12. Basic Computer Skills13. Assist in parts inventory management14. Inspect & replace drive line components15. Remove and replace transmission and clutch (R&R)16. Advanced and continually upgrading tools17. Perform valve and injector adjustments18. Remove and replace steering & chassis components 19. Basic welding & cutting20. Fifth wheel service and rebuild/ king pin wear21. Remove & replace all engines22. Diagnostic Computer Skills23. Citation corrections/ sign off24.  May perform accident repairs on tractors or trailers25. Must be able to communicate with internal customers (i.e. other shop associates, drivers, other maintenance shops, etc.) on such things as stances, wait times, reasons for repair decisions and status updates.26. Must have valid drivers license with acceptable driving record (CDL preferred)27. Own necessary basic tools. Experience, Education, and Training:1. Technical or advanced degree or equivalent experience.2. Exposure to windows based computer systems, preferred.3. Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.4. Successfully demonstrated problem solving skills.5. Examples of teamwork and customer service skills, including good oral and written communication skills.6.
