Costing Analyst



Job Summary



The primary function for the position is costing and rating shipments. Source and negotiate cost with vendors and verify changes.

 



   Major Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested, i.e. reports, file record 

      maintenance, etc.

·         Participate in cross training and continuous skills development.

·         Source cost from vendors from shipments picked-up, delivered and line hauled.

·         Enter cost in Apex accurately and in a timely manner.

·         Build relationships with vendors for improving response time from vendors for

      obtaining charges.

·         Verify charges from a vendor for accuracy and against account requirements.

·         File daily faxed paperwork from vendors.

·         Contact vendors daily via email, fax, phone or web.

·         Develop areas of improvements to make the C&R Dept. more efficient and

      productive.

·         Negotiate with vendors on cost of shipments for added GP%.

·         Work with Sales, CSR’s and CSS’s for pricing and tariffs.

·         Rate and quote based on tariffs of customers & vendors.

·         Provide a “Superior Customer Experience� by ensuring cost are accurate.

·         Create Excel& Word documents for sourcing cost from and corresponding with

      vendors.

·         Logistics and Transportation industry knowledge, a PLUS.

                                       

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience



-          High School Diploma or Equivalent

-          Less than 1 year
