Controller (CPA and local to Houston)
Are you an "atypical" CPA? My client (CFO of this company), with whom I have a long standing relationship with with, has asked my help in finding him just that...someone very strong technically (a CPA is an absolute) yet someone with savvy and passion for helping to drive and run a business. Enthusiasm and a take charge personality are highly regarded. This company is medium sized logistics company with revenue approaching $200M. There are a global company so some international experience would be helpful. Their HQ office is in downtown Houston.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*Perform and supervise the processing, accounting and control of all financial transactions and maintain the ledgers and financial records for corporate operations
* Oversees activities of cash management, cost and general accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable
*Lead the timely completion of the annual audit. Assist and prepare for the annual audit in conjunction with our external auditors through preparation of financial reports, lead schedules, etc.
*Assist in processing payroll.
* Manages month-end account reconciliation and cash balances
Bachelors degree in accounting required
CPA required
Strong GAAP skills required; IFRS knowledge highly desired
