Collections Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:   The key to the success of Pacer Stacktrain is to capitalize on our invoicing and collections process to leverage the company's working capital and deliver quality service to our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with our customers to ensure timely collection of accounts.     PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:   Collection of weekly statement billing. Weekly statement billing is autofaxed or sent to the customer and worked through an agreement/exception process that generates payment in the form of check, EDI or ACH.    Processing bank information and passing the data to cash applications.   Actively resolves exceptions with customers to expedite payment of account.   Collection of past due accounts involves working directly with the customer to resolve exceptions to an invoice. Not only does this include working with the customer, but working with the billing and invoicing processes as well.   Reporting of KPI's to management, developing and implementing stable collections processes and participating in continuous improvement activities.   Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   Key Competencies:   ·  Written and Spoken Communications ·  Coping ·  Assertiveness ·  Policy and Procedures ·  Decision Making and Problem Solving ·  Commitment to Task ·  Interaction ·  Organization and Planning   Technical competencies:   ·  2 - 3 years credit/collections experience preferred ·  Basic to intermediate PC Skills ·  High school diploma with course work which would provide knowledge  of general math and accounting, or equivalent experience required. ·  Basic keyboard and 10 key required ·  Accuracy and attention to detail required ·  Ability to participate in projects and still meet daily process goals.     DIMENSION/SCOPE   This position interacts with external customers (Shippers and Intermodal Management Companies) and internal customers (Billing, Invoicing, and Customer Support).   Measurements: ·  Achievement of prearranged A/R percentage ·  Days sales outstanding   Working Conditions   This position works primarily in an office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and the like.
