Central Sterile Processing Dept Supv/Regional
Primary Functions/Responsibilities:Establishes and maintains the Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD). Responsible for coordination and supervision of the daily operation of the Department. Responsible for purchasing and maintaining inventory of instruments, quality control of equipment, and assuring proper maintenance and operating condition of instrument sterilizing equipment, following all Infection Control guidelines and OSHA, AORN, and AAMI Standards. Ensures all instruments are collected, processed and delivered in an effective manner to meet customer service and employee / patient safety requirements.Required Competencies and Skills:- Attention to detail skills- Strong computer skills- Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize- Excellent written & verbal communication skills- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation- Solid knowledge of instrument processing and sterilizationRequired Education, Experience and Training:- Associates Degree or equivalent experience in health care or related field. - Certification by the Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) within six months of hire date- Two years of operating room and/or hospital sterile processing experience. - One year of supervisory experience - Knowledge of OSHA, AORN, AAMI standards, and sterilization process (both steam and gas). - Proficiency in the use of word processing and spreadsheet PC applications. - Effective organizational and interpersonal communication skills to work with a wide range ofdepartments and personnel.- Record of dependability with punctuality & attendance- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain excellent relationships with members, their families, fellow staff members- Complete a Customer Service Assessment*.Preferred Education, Experience and Training:- Bachelors Degree preferred.- Customer service aptitude demonstrated through Customer Service Assessment* Additional Information Reference Code: 1043511 Position Type: Full Time
