JOB TITLE:                BRANCH MANAGER                                                 

REPORTS TO:          GENERAL MANAGERLOCATION:               

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Directs production, distribution, and marketing operations for branch, or assigned territory of courier service organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

§         Supervises all route assignments, audits, and coverage for all shifts.

§         Supervises installation, removal and maintenance of boxes required for service within the assigned service area.

§         Recruits, interviews and selects employees to fill vacant positions.

§         Reviews reports of wages, hours and miles computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.

§         Monitors and/or performs maintenance of company vehicles.

§         Collects data and compiles reports documenting incidents and progress of the branch.

§         Oversees facility maintenance including documenting and scheduling repairs and service required.

§         Reviews all Coos and monitors all new starts.

§         Ensures that all company policies are followed.

§         Performs exit interviews with terminated employees.

§         Reviews ground and air movements regularly, adjusting routes and flights when necessary.

§         Meets with Shift Managers to discuss problems that have occurred in previous shift.

§         Facilitates positive communication between Shift Managers, Relief Drivers, Sorters, and Couriers.

§         Participates in periodic meetings.

§         Maintains attendance records for Branch Operations employees.

§         Available on-call 24 hours per day for problem resolution and conflict management.

§         Researches various avenues for the most efficient way to move materials.

§         Participates in Management By Commitment program as implemented by the President and supervised by the General Manager and support staff. Other duties may be assigned.

§         Other duties may be assigned.



SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

§         BA degree; and/or equivalent related management experience; or combination of both.

§         Must have excellent communication (oral/written) skills with all levels of associates.

§         Must have the ability to train and retain associates.

§         Must be organized and possess the ability to prioritize in a deadline oriented environment.

§         5 years minimum managing

§         Transportation industry, a plus.

§         Experience in Safety Programs and TSA knowledge.

§         Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
