WEB INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER Atlanta Description:TITLE: WEB INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERLOCATION: ATLANTA, GEORGIAREPORTS TO: MANAGER, Portal OperationsSUMMARY OF POSITION: Create designs for new and existing web infrastructure on Solaris and Linux platforms; to include creation of proof-of-concept prototypes through to carrier-class production solution designs. Technological scope of work includes www presentation layer, application servers, J2EE environments, and supporting frameworks.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Design and engineer web infrastructure in support of in-house and third-party web applications including software framework and hardware components.2. Provide continuing engineering for existing and future web services to meet product requirements from marketing / new product development.3. Provide technical support and function as escalation point for web operations. 4. Administer the lab environments for applications currently being developed or updated.5. Interface with other design groups for networking, database and storage aspects of web application design.6. Provide thorough engineering documentation for all web services products, current and future.7. Aid in evaluating new services, products, and solutions in the web services realm.Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:1. Experience administering/supporting/engineering web technology platforms. Experience must include Apache HTTP Server and JBoss and at least one other application server (from WebLogic, Tomcat, or Resin). (3 years)2. Solaris system administration experience. (3 years) This includes installation, configuration, administration of Solaris 10 and associated technologies such as NFS3. Strong skills working with apache, J2EE application servers, and database servers in large scale, multi-tier environments.4. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. 5. Prior experience in engineering or operations with a carrier or service provider.6. Proven ability to acquire new technical skills quickly.7. Good working knowledge of firewalls, proxy servers and load balancers. Should also have a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and protocols.8. Familiarity with system and web application security standards and techniques.9. Through understanding of shell scripting and comfortable writing shell scripts.10. Thorough working knowledge of J2EE, XML and LDAP. 11. Prior work experience with JSP, CGI, CSS and Perl a plus.12.
