User Interface and Web Systems Designer

Job Description

We are looking for an energetic and talented individual to work as part of the Marketing team to manage the ReadyTalk website and design and develop the graphical user interface portion of our ReadyTalk applications.  This position works closely with the Engineering and Product Development teams. 

 

This position is ideal for someone that has a passion for conceptualizing, designing and owning the graphical look and feel of a small, growing technology company. This position requires a great deal of initiative and comfort in an unstructured environment.

 

Requirements

·  Flexibility to work outside of business hours as a release schedule dictates

·  Technical and/or graphic design education and experience required

 

Duties

·  Design the user interface for ReadyTalk’s applications

·  Work within the company’s software development life cycle process

·  Collaborate in the planning, design and development for a release

·  Present design issues, questions and suggestions for alternate ways of implementing a feature to the Product and Marketing teams

·  Create mockups to assist the product and engineering teams visualize and develop new GUI designs

·  Provide project management assistance for marketing initiatives

·  Assist in design of ReadyTalk’s marketing collateral and other on-line design elements

·  Assist in website content updates and development projects on an as-needed basis

·  Research competitive GUI designs and layouts

Technical Skills

·  HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, and Flash

·  Proven ability to design & write code that is compatible with multiple browsers & operating systems

·  PHP and SQL (MySQL experience a plus)

·  Image manipulation and graphics skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc)

·  Experience with Linux/Unix based web development and version control systems
