Tier 2 Technical Support Representative

This position is responsible for VoIP network support, maintaining the softswitch, looking for, evaluating and fixing errors, and performing all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

* Basic knowledge of Public Switched Telephone Network fundamentals, primarily Carrier Interconnection and Local Number Portability.
* Knowledge of IP telephony basics, acronyms, terminology, and fundamental concepts.
* Knowledge of High Speed Internet Services (Broadband), installation/configuration of DSL, ADSL, Cable Modems, routers, and how to set up an ATA (analog telephone adaptor).
* Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking.
* Knowledge of Windows (2000, XP, Vista), IE, Outlook, and TCP/IP, SIP Protocols.
* Experience with capturing and analyzing IP packets using PCAP, Snoop, and/or Empirix.

* Linux and Unix experience preferred

* Experience in a helpdesk/trouble ticketing environment.
* FTTH/Cable Television experience is a plus. 

* Network + Certification preferred

* Ability to organize multiple tasks, pay close attention to detail, maintain reliability, and the ability to work in a self-sufficient environment.


* Ability to participate in evening/weekend after-hours on-call schedule

* Excellent communications skills (verbal and written communication with Vendors, Resellers, etc is required)
