Telecommunications Field Sales Engineer

General Summary:The Field Sales Engineer IV is responsible for designing complex network solutions and high-end complex equipment designs, which include applications and data platforms for the sales division based on customer expectations and requests.  In addition, the FSE IV will be a technical consultant to the sales staff and customer base.  Act as part of the sales planning team and work closely with the product manufacturers to ensure their knowledge of the growing telecommunications technology. Key Responsibilities:· Provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and equipment engineering systems· Resolve highly complex technical issues and conduct advanced research· Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures· Assist in the introduction of new products to sales team· Provide system integration, product training, and technical product & data network support to the sales team· Conduct technical customer presentations and RFP responses when required by the sales team· Produce designs and pricing on respective vendors quote systems· Provide formal scope of work for final quoted solution· Partner with sales and operations to ensure proper hand off and successful transitions of designed solutions· Additional responsibilities as position requires Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:  (education, experience, technical skills, communication skills, customer focus, time management skills, independence, accuracy)· Bachelors degree or equivalent telecom engineering experience required· 8 – 10+ years of complex CPE system and network design· Familiarity with the field's concepts, practices, and procedures· Strong technical expertise to evaluate customer needs and design solutions ; Proficiency in performing complex technical system design and pricing· Nortel, NEC, Octel or similar systems Basic Database Administration and System Familiarization courses & certifications (including Voicemail, Call Center & Enhanced Applications) required· Basic Telephony and strong Data Network Application experience required· Wide degree of creativity and latitude expected· Effective interpersonal & verbal communication skills; Demonstrated strong technical writing skills for SOW preparation· PC Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Shared Technologies Inc. is an affirmative action employer, and we encourage minorities and women to apply.Minority/ Female/ Disabled/ Veteran
