Telecom Field Technician

We are seeking a Field Technician who will be responsible for visiting customer sites to maintain & support enterprise-wide communications systems. Field Technicians perform maintenance and upgrades for existing telecommunications and data networks.

*Perform basic tests, using various testing devices, to ascertain effectiveness of operations on telecommunications and data network/systems.
*Troubleshoots issues related to the routine operations of telecommunications network and systems.
*Keeps accurate documentation of work performed, equipment used and systems problems and issues.
*Acts as the first point of issues resolution by assisting with or responding to basic and routine technician requests.
*Interfaces with internal and external technical staff to provide customer service and ensure satisfaction with products and services.

Skills Required:
*2+ years experience with field support, installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of voice networks, convergence standards and protocols, infrastructures, signaling, basic telephony, Voice over IP, and topology convergences.
*Working knowledge of patch panels, modems and various analog and digital signaling systems is preferred.
*Working knowledge of T-1 network architectures and operating procedures. A fundamental knowledge of line control techniques and communication access methodology is needed.
*Working knowledge of operating systems and hardware including, but not limited to, IRQs, direct memory access, computer hard drives, modems, network cards, CPUs, power supplies and printers, memory management, configuration files.
*Ability to read and interpret basic technical diagrams and schematics.
*Working knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards and the National Electric Code.
*Mitel and /or Inter-Tel product experience is preferred.
*A clean driving record is required.
