Systems Maintenance Administrator

 

Intrado is currently searching for a Systems Maintenance Administrator for our Austin, TX office.

 

Responsible for acting as a liaison between internal and external customers and vendors to ensure they receive contracted levels of maintenance support (e.g., related to applications, system upgrades, system issues, etc.), ensuring adherence to departmental and corporate policies and procedures; create and maintain a method of tracking maintenance renewals and inventory, ensuring adequate notification of pending renewals prior to end date; assist in negotiating service agreements, and improvements in maintenance pricing, terms, services, etc., to best benefit the organization; provide leadership and direction on supplier maintenance contract projects, as required; participate in development and implementation of hardware and software maintenance tracking policies and procedures that provide the most efficient, effective process while maintaining cost-effectivenessMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, MIS or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.

Experience

Minimum of three years experience working in a technical operations environment required, preferably with administering maintenance agreements.

Troubleshoot outage situations, assist customers as needed and provide product information

Thoroughly and accurately document all customer technical issues

Follow-up on open customer issues in a timely manner and resolve calls quickly and efficiently

Involve needed resources in an appropriate and efficient manner

Preferred

Detailed technical UNIX® knowledge (primarily RHEL and HP-UX)

Experience with application installation on both UNIX® and WINDOWS® platforms

Understanding of relational and hierarchical databases

Working knowledge of ORACLE system/database administration

Excellent analytical, written and verbal skills

Ability to respond positively to emotional or stressful customer situations via the telephone or email

Ability to learn new software tools quickly

Knowledge of Crystal Reports and XML a plus

Experience with programming languages (C++, JAVA, …) a plus

 

 

Other

Intermediate knowledge of MS Office including Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
