The successful candidate must be a self-starter with an advanced level of experience working with such
Microsoft operating systems as Windows 2000/2003, Server Applications such as Microsoft SQL Server,
Microsoft Exchange 2000/2003/2007 and SharePoint 2003/2007. The applicant will need to have strong
working knowledge of Active Directory Services, Microsoft Cluster Services and Group Policies. The
candidate must be familiar with network systems to include the operation and support of Web Servers and a strong understanding of network communication equipment.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and
present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in a dynamic fast paced environment that requires team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with client managers and system users.
Specifically the Systems Engineer (SE) will be responsible for integration and planning on a Windows 2000 and 2003 network with multiple types of servers and server applications to include but not limited to: Exchange 2000/2003/2007, SQL, IIS, SMS, and SharePoint. The SE will coordinate Information Assurance efforts and network security with the Computer Security Manager. The SE will implement the actions required to correct deficiencies or shortcomings and to improve system performance, efficiency and assist in the integration efforts for lifecycle migration plans, as well as new systems with COTS, GOTS, Non-development Items (NDI), and developmental equipment.
Background and Experience Required (a): (including education, skills, work activities)
Applicant will be subject to a full field investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate
access credentials for customer locations.
-6 years of experience working with Microsoft Server Products.
-MCSE 2000/2003.
-Experience supporting Application Development Environments.
-Experience with Microsoft Clustering Services.
-Experience with Scanning and Mitigation processes for System Accreditation.
Background and Experience Desired (b): (including education, skills, work activities)
B.S. Computer Science, Information System, Mathematics, or IT related field.
Military background and experience.
8 years of experience working with Microsoft Server Products.
