System Design Specialist

Location: San Antonio, TX 78201 Requisition ID:  REQ64299953 (Post ID:75603060) Job Level:  Experienced (Non-Manager)Position Purpose:- Effectively supports the installation and Post installation software requirements for CSE1K/ Meridian 1 products, including associated applications.- Provide product installation support to Field Technicians, including system design and problem analysis and resolution, as it relates to the programming of the systems being installed.- This position may require travelResponsibilities:- Conduct pre-installation review/meetings to establish customer requirements and complete database input forms- Establish customer training dates and requirements- Provide customer training and support as required- Review for accuracy and completeness ordered system configuration with customerrequirements/expectations- Develop and complete systems database input forms from information provided by customer, local TELCO Information and system configuration- Complete input of system configuration based upon developed database information- Configure CallPilot Software and Voice Menus, including automated attendant and voice forms- Configure ACD and Call Center features and queues- Configure database to support and/or interface with networked switching environments- Interface and communicate with Meridian 1/CSE1K systems remotely to modify customer database information and troubleshoot installation programming problems- Provide field support and database modification as required during installation and postinstallation activities- Develop and maintain system database documentationEducation:- B S/BA in Telecommunications, Engineering, or equivalent experienceSkills Required:- Customer service aptitude- Expertise in Nortel networking and telecommunication equipment, includingMeridian 1/CSE1K, CallPilot, Meridian Mail.- Familiarity with Nortel’s automated engineering tools- Sound knowledge of telecommunication transmission standards (T-1, TIE, E+M, DID)- Understanding of ISDN concepts, nomenclature, and testing skills- Data communications skills, specifically Serial terminal I/F and modem configurations- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, team worker/builder skills, and projectmanagement orientation aptitudeExperience Required:- 5 to 8 years telecommunications experience, with emphasis on CSE1K/Ml system design, programming, installation and end-user training Travel Required:  Moderate travel Position Type:  Full Time, Employee Relocation assistance:  None,  Homebase Eligible:  Yes Shift:  Day/First Shift Business Unit:  Global Ops and Quality
