Staff Network Engineer

The SPVTG, created following the acquisition of Scientific Atlanta by Cisco, continues to lead the video content delivery initiatives of the company, helping operators make the transition from video, voice, and data service providers to organizations that deliver entertainment, communications, and information experiences designed to change the way people work, live, play, and learn.   Staff Network Engineer Seasoned Telecom/Network Engineer to support Cisco IT’s internal customer base. This position requires the ability to troubleshoot IP-related data, voice, and video problems in a fast-paced environment with high expectations for uptime and reliability. To this end, after-hours on-call support over nights and weekends are required. The right candidate will possess excellent written and verbal skills and should be proficient in Visio and/or other programs used to document a changing network environment. Minimum Requirement: 5+ years’ experience designing, implementing, and supporting converged IP networks 2 + years’ experience with general Telecommunications systems 2 + years’ experience managing network-related project activities with limited supervision 1 + year experience with Visio or similar programs 5 + years’ industry experience with a 4-year degree or 10+ years’ industry experience with no degree Ability to travel 10%-20% domestically and internationally Preferred Experience: 10+ years of hands-on data networking experience using Cisco-branded routers and switches in a medium to large enterprise Experience supporting Cisco Call Manager and IP Phones Experience with Cisco-branded Video equipment, systems and protocols Bachelor’s degree completed or in-progress Any of the following certifications: CCNA, CCVP, CCNP, CCIE or Cisco Unified Rich Media Communications Specialist  Connect with Scientific Atlanta, a Cisco company and receive a competitive salary and exceptional benefits.
