Staff Accountant

All Things HR, an HR outsourcing organization, is recruiting for the following position for our client who is a telecommunications company based in Seattle, WA.

 

 

The Staff Accountant oversees and carries out daily/month-end finance department operations. This person will report to the controller and be responsible for: the accounts payable processes the month-end reporting and activity, maintains the General Ledger in QuickBooks, prepares and processes payroll and commissions, reconciles employee benefits, manages the banking activities, processes accounts payable invoices and makes suggestions on process improvement.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Manages accounts payable including negotiating and securing credits, reconciling and paying invoices and completing all related reportsOversees and executes necessary month-end reporting and activityMaintains accuracy of QuickBooks and General Ledger by accurately tracking and coding financial information Prepares and processes semi-monthly payrollReconciles employee benefit accounts including medical, 401(k) and leave timeManages banking activity including petty cash, money transfers and reconciliation of all checking, credit and loan accountsEnters sales commissions into QuickBooks and reviews commission and expense reports for accuracyEnters invoices/payables into QuickBooksResponds to email and phone inquiriesReviews accounting processes and makes improvements as neededOther tasks and projects as assigned

 

Essential Job QualificationsExcellent problem solving skills and strong attention to detailExperience establishing and maintaining accounting records.2 - 4 years of experience in accounting.Experience in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is required). BA or AA in Accounting preferred, but not requiredExperience in Telecommunications field an added plus, but not necessary.
