Sr. UNIX Administrator

Intelliverse is seeking a Sr. UNIX Engineer for their Corporate office located in Alpharetta, Georgia.  The position is part of an on-site team which manages the mission-critical systems and networks which supports the technological infrastructure for the Intelliverse client.  This includes installing, configuration and 24x7 maintenance/support of Solaris/Linux servers.

The Following are the Essential Duties of the Position:

- Provide system administration and operational support of all Sun servers in production and/or development/QA environment. 
- Responsible for new Solaris systems building, configuration, maintenance and tuning.
- Ability to resolve server performance issues
- Update security and recommended patch installations
NIS, NFS Administration
- Shell/Perl scripting experience
- Analyze and resolve problems associated with server hardware as well as Solaris operating systems and application software- Document processes and procedures as developed and/or required


Candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications to be considered a "Qualified Applicant" for the position:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Working knowledge of Computer networking with at least 5 years of Solaris/Linux/UNIX system administration
- Microsoft networking experience
- Minimum 2 years Experience with Veritas volume manager and Netbackup Veritas storage foundation and Veritas Clustering
- Minimum 3 years Apache/Tomcat experience
- Proven SAN and NAS experience
- Proven TCP/IP networking experience

Preferred Certifications and Experience:

- Solaris Certified Administrator
- Linux Certified System Engineer
- Experience with using Cisco routers/switches/firewalls is preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of Sendmail, IMAP, POP and LDAP
- Working knowledge of SAN (EMC) storage
- Strong knowledge of UNIX/LINUX
- Oracle experience a plus
- VoIP experience is a plus
- Strong internetworking background in DNS, TCP/IP, WINS, Microsoft networking, routing and switching technologies.
- Experience with VoIP gateways (AudioCode, Sonus, Asterix, Cisco) is preferred but not required
