Location: Naperville, IL Relocation Provided: NoEducation Required: Bachelors DegreeExperience Required: 7 yearsPosition Overview:Reporting to the Senior Manager of Training & Events within Global Sales & Services Operations, you will serve as a subject matter expert on Tellabs 8800 and 8600 products and related technologies, applications, and solutions. You will design and develop basic and advanced technical product, hands-on training courses for Sales Systems Engineers (SSE) and make recommendations on the direction and strategy of ensuring the technical competence of SSEs. The candidate for this position needs to be highly technically experienced in telecommunications, data networking, and networking technologies, be able to demonstrate sophisticated training design and delivery skills, have the ability to recommend and construct effective training solutions to enable SSEs to acquire hands-on expertise in supporting demos and trials, and be able to establish positive, consultative relationships across organizations. This position requires someone with excellent interpersonal, communication, and platform skills to not only work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) but develop and deliver technical hands-on training effectively to a global audience. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who possesses similar skills as an SSE but has the additional training skills to communicate, develop, educate, and enable knowledge transfer to a technical audience. Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Sales, Product Development/Management, Service, and R&D to research and develop expertise on Tellabs 8800 and 8600 products and related technologies. Review necessary technical documents for technical readiness on various products. Create Method of Procedures for various products. Create course materials by organizing and formatting MOP’s using templates. Submit course materials to SME’s for technical accuracy and completeness. Design and develop additional student materials, lab guides, and tests for SSE training courses, as needed.Qualifications:• Seeking 7+ years technical demonstration, field, trial, and training delivery experience.• A must: Highly organized,highly motivated self starter with little or no need for day to day supervision• Familiarity with development principles guiding course development and design of technical training content.• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.• Ability to dynamically adjust classroom delivery style and technical depth to match the needs of the audience.• Ability to design, develop and deliver customized technical training with very high quality in a fast-paced classroom/lab environment.• Ability to clearly explain abstract and complex information through the use of metaphor, example, and other knowledge relation techniques.• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and products and translate knowledge into hands-on courses.• Ability to travel globally is required (estimated 1 month/quarter).• Ability to manage and meet multiple project milestones and completion goals.• Very strong technical skills with experience in the following:o Etherneto switching o VLANSo Tagging / stacked taggingo physical transportso IPo routingo addressingo QOSo transport methodso routing protocolso ospfo bgpo Opticalo DWDMo SONETo SDHo Traffic engineeringo MPLSo PWE3o RSVP-TEo Telecommunicationso ATM o Frame Relayo DSLo TDMo Mobileo RAN, RNC, MSC, BSCo 3G- GSM – CDMA• Below certifications desired but not required.CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
