Sr. Software Engineer - QA

The Lowell, Massachusetts team will be working on next generation solutions that will make a significant impact within the market.This is a senior level role focused in developing our next generation platform focused at the Metro Ethernet market. As a Sr. Development Test Engineer on the team you will have a wide scope, and depth, of responsibilities. This job will be responsible for various SQA activities of Platform & Feature Testing. This role has high impact and high visibility within the team. We are looking for someone that has experience building carrier class networking product with a passion for solving complex problems with a solid work ethic and team player attitude.  RESPONSIBILITIES: MEF conformance / certification, L2VPN, Pseudo wire & VPWS, L2TP, Q-in-Q, MAC-in-MAC. Work within a SQA team planning, documenting, testing, automation and debugging software. Responsible for design and development of test plan, test cases, and test execution. Responsible for automation of test cases for full regressions. Interfacing with functional groups within the development organization. Close working relationship with development team. Network vendor interoperability. Functional, Scale, Performance testing. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and experience with ATM, POS, FR and Ethernet is highly desirable. Experience in testing L2 and L3 protocols. Proficient at testing networking equipment, switches, routers, and gateways. Expertise in Perl and TCL scripting language for last five years. Proficient with traffic generation 3rd party test equipment such as Agilent N2X, IXIA, SmartBits, Adtech. Knowledge of defect tracking systems and basic software test methodologies and processes is required. We prefer the follow general qualifications: BS/MS degree in CS or related discipline with 6+ years of relevant software quality experience in the telecommunications or related industry. Demonstrated Capabilities for SQA deliverables including test plans, automation and execution of tests. Able to work well in a cross-organizational team with hardware, diagnostics, and software. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Comfortable working independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Excellent problem solving skills with ability to work in a fast paced development schedule.
