Sr. Software Developer - Architect

DescriptionThe Senior Strategic Software Developer (Senior SSD) is the primary development team contact for evaluating and assessing next generation technical tools, processes and strategies. This individual is responsible for evaluating products and tools and recommending, as appropriate, how such products/tools may be integrated into the organization to meet business objectives. The Senior SSD will also be responsible for scoping, sizing, and estimating the resources required for the more technically complex projects that come to the Network Management Application Development & Assurance (NWMADA) team. The Senior SSD is also responsible for all of the design work required for these projects is responsible for the handoff of designs and architecture to the Lead or Sr. Programmer Analyst (or equivalent) for execution of the remaining SDLC phases. Lastly, the Senior SSD is responsible for building solid working relationships with business customers through an understanding of their business objectives and providing solutions and/or options to meeting those objectives.QualificationsMust have a minimum of five (5) years of programming experience. At least five (5) years of experience in full project lifecycle including all stages of design, development and implementation of custom applications as well as the deployment of packaged solutions is required. Experience in application development utilizing a relational database such as Oracle is essential. Must have experience working within a formal methodology for software development and a clear understanding of project management processes and tasks. Possess knowledge of all phases of the software and full systems development life cycle is desired specifically, requirements gathering and documentation. Must have project planning and management skills, including scope of work, time estimation, and resource assignment is necessary. Must have programming language and operating system expertise similar to: UNIX, Microsoft Windows, JAVA, XML, and Web services, JMS. Experience developing and deploying applications in a multi-tier environment is required. Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
