Sr, Process Engineer

Work with Marketing/Sales, Operations, Quality and Engineering groups to effectively introduce new products into production, specifically providing a liaison between Design Engineering and Operations.  Research new component packages and PCB technologies and implement into product design and assembly processes.  Investigate and implement corrective action for functional failures, process issues and reliability concerns.  Coordinate new product introduction issues from design concept through full production release to include but not limited to:  PCB layout for manufacturability/testability; Component selection based on part cost, availability, and cost of assembly; Design, component, and process standardization; Assembly and test process planning.  Support subcontractor assembly of products after release to full production status.  Serve as OPIT Leader for NetVanta Router and Switch product development.  The OPIT leader is responsible for coordinating activities within Operations to support new product development.  Responsibilities also include, facilitating communication between team members on critical milestone dates, schedule changes, functional changes to the product, and resolving any delays in the release process.

10+ years electronics manufacturing experience is preferred with 3+ year’s new product introduction / prototyping background.  Understanding of PCB fabrication process and materials.  Knowledge in assembly processes to include SMT (BGA &QFN), wave solder, tooling, mechanical assembly and rework processes.  Familiar with IPC workmanship and PCB design standards fro PTH/SMT.  Working knowledge of BOM structures, material planning and procurement.  Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills.  Self-starter with project management and team leadership skills.

BSIE, BSME, or BSEE required; Masters degree in Engineering or Business is preferred
