Provide cost/benefit analysis of alternative methods to accomplish desired outcome. Provide project leadership to ensure project deadlines/milestones are met. Communicate progress; manage risk contingencies and market expectations. Ensure equipment engineers are continually in sync with capacity needs and timelines. Interface with external vendor organizations. Document user requirements to support implementation of new network equipment. Develop tactical project plans, accounting for scheduling and the deliverables, action item and resolution tracking, management reports and coordinate meetings with equipment and service providers. Produce reports depicting critical network triggers along with current network utilization and projected capacity exhaustion.Collect market forecasts, traffic studies, operational requirements, and technology criteria and working with area planning correlate this data into strategic network plans. Provide input to and thoroughly understand the capital budget developed to support the network growth plans. Develop computer models for demand and forecast charts to forecast equipment additions based on market requirements, traffic studies, and equipment technologies. Assume management responsibility for the Switch Implementation team when manager is on vacation or traveling. Assume Equipment Engineer role if required to support needs of the team. p { font-size: 11px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 12px; } QualificationsBachelor in Engineering or related technical field with at least 5 years related experience in the wireless industry or at least 10 years equivalent experience. Must have at least 5 years experience planning and engineering Alcatel-Lucent switching. Must have at least 3 years experience planning and engineering other peripheral equipment, i.e. DACS, aggregation routers, MLS, voicemail, AC/DC Power, HVAC, space planning, and other building systems. Also, a thorough understanding of switch, interconnect and IP transport equipment, concepts and theory of operation. Must have a comprehensive understanding of wireless network engineering principles and operations. Must have proficient PC skills using Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Auto-Cad light, Adobe, PeopleSoft, Prospect. Experience with DOS, UNIX and script file programming is a plus. Must have an in-depth knowledge of capital/expense budgets and Sarbanes Oxley measures and standards. Must be familiar with network standards. Must be able to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail. Must be capable of handling multiple priorities in a highly changing environment. Strong project management skills with ability to perform in a team environment. Must have excellent written and oral communications skills, also excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
