Sr Analyst-Tax Systems

p { font-size: 11px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 12px; } Responsibilities This position is responsible for the design, development and overseeing of tax billing platforms used to comply with tax law. This position will make recommendations to management and interact with other functions both inside and outside of tax including IT, Revenue Assurance, Customer Care, Legal, Revenue Accounting, and Regulatory.Design, Develop and Overseeing of tax billing systems to comply with tax law. Ensure complex tax rate and rule tables are functioning properly for Federal, State and Local taxes. Test system functionality and make decisions. Project manage, develop test plans and set criteria to validate system processes, bills and reports for proper taxation. Recognize system issues, errors and enhancements needs, and make recommendations to management. Work on billing system conversions ensuring proper tax functionality by reviewing and performing regression tests, adding special requirements and writing Requirement Templates for IT to fill functionality gaps. Oversee tax rate & rule tables. Ensure tax rate & rule changes are implemented properly and on time in Vision, NetAce and other systems. Tax Assurance System Reviews- Review system processes for proper tax functionality. Document system processes and create test plans for validating system functionality. Report findings to management and make recommendations for system improvements. Operational Reviews- Review processes utilized by operations (sales, customer service, etc) for capturing proper tax information from customers. Create test plans and report findings and recommendations. Review and update tax training material utilized by sales & customer service. Run quarterly meetings with Customer Service to address tax related issues and process improvements. Review and maintain Tax Tools utilized by field. Update documents on tax server for tax dept use.Bill Validation- review customer bills for proper taxation and report issues to Revenue Assurance and Tax Management. Write test plans and submit and work with IT. Maintain and develop Tax Tool utilized for validating taxes on bills. Own the functionality of this tool's accuracy in InfoManager by making recommendations to IT for necessary change. This is the tool used by customer care and other groups to gain info for customers and others. Sarbanes Oxley - Test and validate controls utilized by Tax Billing for ensuring tax rate and rules upload process are functioning properly. This includes processes for ensuring law changes or rates and rules changes are reflected timely and properly in the billing systems. p { font-size: 11px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 12px; } Qualifications Education: BS or BA degree in Accounting or Computer Science. · Experience: 4-6 years experience in Accounting or Tax with a combination of Accounting/Tax and IT experience highly preferred.· Other: · Must have Advance MS Access or similar database skills.· Must have Advanced MS Excel and Word skills.· Must have strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.· Must be project oriented with ability to manage time effectively.· Telecommunications experience is helpful· Vision, POS, PeopleSoft, TeraData SQL data warehouse skills are helpful.· Ability to form conclusions from analysis and make recommendations· CPA, MS, MBA a plus We are an equal opportunity employer m/f/d/v.
