Small Business Sales Team Manager Northern, VA Description:Position Summary: The manager of the Small Business Sales Team manages the hiring, training, and performance of the Small Business Sales Representatives who call on small business accounts to sell bundled telephony, data, and video products. This position also works to ensure that the sales strategy and corporate sales goals are achieved by the Small Business Sales Representatives.Duties: Leads and motivates a team of Small Business Team Sales Representatives to meet or exceed corporate sales goals. Periodically develops account forecasts. Assigns territories, customer sales opportunities, and sales goals to individual Small Business Sales Team Representatives, based on their skill levels and on corporate/regional sales goals (quotas plus key sales objectives) for the system. Sets direction and maintains focus of direct reports. Coordinates with Operations and Engineering counterparts to ensure high quality customer service. Works with the Inside Sales Manager to ensure customer leads received from their direct reports are passed to the Small Business Sales Team Representatives as appropriate. Approves/disapproves ROI assessments developed by Small Business Sales Team Sales Representatives (up to a designated dollar amount over which VP approval is required - - amount to be determined). Forwards ROI assessments, as appropriate, to Cox Business VP of Sales for approval. Reviews and assesses sales information provided by the Small Business Sales Team Representatives. Coaches Small Business Sales Team Representatives on sales results, work performance, team utilization, and career development. Conducts direct report reviews so that performance standards are met and, if not, takes immediate action to improve work performance. Signs off on commission reports for Small Business Sales Team Sales Representatives. Updates sales database with all required customer information in a timely fashion. Serves as a subject matter expert or advisor on selected customer sales.Qualifications:Qualifications: Bachelors degree and/or equivalent experience. 3 years experience in communication sales, demonstrating progressive leadership positions. Must be able to coach, train, and mentor Small Business Sales Team Representatives to achieve sales goals. Must have a proven track record of leading a team and achieving objectives and quotas. Knowledge of communications industry; experience in industry preferred. Strong negotiation, problem solving, and analytical skills. Strong administrative and supervisory skills Strong leadership and motivational skills. Strong people and relationship management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Computer skills including Windows based applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook).
