Senior VoIP Engineer
Intrado is currently searching for a Senior VoIP Engineer for our Longmont office.
Responsible for leading and participating in the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance and upgrade of the companies Voice over IP (VoIP) deployment, supporting applications and network hardware; receive and address error escalations of VoIP network through the ticket system, troubleshoot issues in a timely and accurate manner; conduct third-tier level of support concerning new products for internal and external customers, train training resource to convey the correct information for client serviceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, MIS, telecommunications, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience
Minimum four years networking, telecommunications, or application experience required with an emphasis in VoIP.
Minimum one year supervisory or lead experience preferred
Other
Basic knowledge of multi protocol label switching (MPLS) required
Basic knowledge of signaling protocols (e.g., SS7, SIP, CAS, etc) required
Equipment Experience Preferred
Cisco PGW, Cisco TGW AS-5350, Radysis Convedia Media Server
Signalling Experience Preferred
Unix, SIGTRAN, Cisco commands, SIGTRAN, M3UA,MGCP, ISUP, ISDN, Audio Codecs, XML/Info Messages and Conferencing
Additional Technical Requirements Preferred
The candidate should have a strong understanding of the following:
- Unix operations specifically the day to day operations and system configuration including sudo (user accounts, user activity, file permissions and ownership, etc…)
- Solaris Operating System – Specifically where to find log files and command structure to perform certain actions like TCP dump and building the different interfaces.
- Of how Cisco software resides on the Solaris Platform and the directory structure.
- VoIP communications; specifically SIP and SIGTRAN. The establishment of the M3UA link and its signaling, MGCP how it works and the messaging, SIP protocol and related messages.
- ISUP circuit design that includes feature and functionality of the circuit parameters.
- Physical connections of ISUP, ISDN and CAS circuits
- T1 circuit layout and the wiring format using the RJ45 connection
- ISUP circuits and the CIC design (ITU standard and Bell Core standard)
- ISDN circuits and the D and B channel relationship along with features and functionality.
- CAS circuits and the In-Band signaling parameters (Feature Groups, Wink, Ground Loop, etc…)
- Cisco Switch language and the ability to configure the switch parameters and troubleshoot.
- Linux Operating System: File structure and directory structure
- RTP/MGCP protocols, specifically the G.711 codec knowing the default media port
- XML messages within SIP info messages to create conferencing
- Conferencing
