Senior Systems Engineer- Philadelphia, PA

Job Summary: This position will be responsible for the testing, prototyping and evaluation of new technologies and products and the development of communication, multimedia and data applications that utilize such technologies delivered over a residential & commercial broadband data infrastructure
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversees the evaluation, installation and monitoring of various data-networking platforms and equipment, including but not limited to cable modem equipment, servers, routers, and transmission equipment
• Develop and review acceptance test plans/cases as well as conduct and manage product testing process.
• Responsible for configuring, installing and maintaining field trial installations of equipment and services
• Perform related projects
Required Skills:
Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering from accredited four (4) year college or equivalent in experience and self-study. - Master's Degree a plus
• At least 3 years experience in the design and deployment of IP networks and equipment
• At least 3 years experience with IP networks over Cable with emphasis on DOCSIS.
• At least 3 years working experience with protocols: SSL/TLS, SIP, XMPP, SIMPLE, SOAP, XML highly desirable
• Prior experience working with cable RF equipment a plus
• At least 3 years hands-on experience with OS platforms such as Unix, Linux & Solaris
• Working knowledge/experience with QoS (RSVP, Diffserv, etc.), multimedia (Windows Media, G.711, G7.29, H.263, H.264), security and data protocol standards (TCP/IP, RIP, MPEG, H.323, H.263) and home networking technologies and standards (Bluetooth, HomePNA, Home RF, 802.11, CEBus, etc.) a plus
• Demonstrated familiarity with (and preferably contribution to) industry technical standards bodies and processes, including, for example, the IETF, ITU, and CableLabs.
• Strong technical communications and presentation skills and experience, both oral and written Must be a team player/flexible and able to work in a fast paced/changing environment
• Willingness to travel.
