Location: Petaluma, CA Relocation Provided: NoEducation Required: Bachelors DegreeExperience Required: 3 yearsPosition Overview:The Senior Proposal Engineer 1 is a technology and project management resource within the Proposal Operations team responsible for the development of world class proposals that influence our customers to purchase Tellabs’ products and services.Proposal Management duties include:– Serve as an end to end project manager for major proposals and as a team participant on other proposal projects– Coordinate and direct proposal project teams including resources from other departments– Assist in developing proposal strategy– Develop accurate and compelling written responses to customers’ detailed product and business requirements– Assist in the preparation of commercial proposal contentsSupport Activities include:– Assist in development and maintenance of proposal documentation and tools– Contribute to the improvement of departmental processesQualifications:Skills:Candidate must possess a combination of voice, data and video telecommunications network knowledge for both copper-based and fiber-based solutions. Furthermore, advanced writing, analytical, and project management skills are required. Candidate must also possess a high level of computer proficiency, including expertise with MS Office applications.Experience:A minimum of three years working with voice, video and data telecommunications technologies and current network applications. Applied knowledge of TR 57, TR 08, GR 303, VoIP protocols, switched digital video, RF video, xDSL, FTTx, Ethernet, IP, MPLS, ATM, and Frame Relay required. Additional knowledge of SONET technologies preferred. Proposal development or other project management experience a plus..
