Senior Network Engineer

 

Primary Position Responsibilities:

 

Provide advanced design, implementation and operational support services for Encompass customers.  Efficiently deliver high quality Cisco focused services to customers. Apply expert knowledge of Cisco equipment to designs and implementation of customer networks. Work directly with customers to provide high quality network discovery, design, implementation, and support services. Compose and write customer documentation. Meet customer and internal deadlines for deliverables. Effectively resolve or provide work-around for customer problems using Cisco TAC case management.

 

Minimum Job Requirements:

 

·  4-year degree in computer science, math, engineering or other related field or the equivalent in experience.

·  7 years networking experience preferably in the telecommunications industry.

·  In-depth knowledge of Cisco equipment implementation and software configurations.

·  In-depth knowledge of IP and related protocols.

·  Networking system concepts with knowledge in at least four of the following: Cisco CCNP, MCSE 2000 or equivalent, multiservice/network design, LAN/WAN protocols, fault resolutions and resolution techniques, network tools such as protocol analyzers, network security, UNIX/NT/W2K OS, or HP OpenView and CiscoWorks.

·  Excellent analytical troubleshooting skills.

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·  Strong customer service skills.

·  Strong organizational skills.
