Safety & Compliance Coordinator, North Reading, Massachusetts

M-F 7:30am - 4:00pm

Assist in the execution of the management of all activity related to the Metro Boston Region Safety and Compliance Programs.

Under general supervision, coordinate the safety and compliance training activities for the Metro Boston.
Assist in the implementation and ongoing management of accident and loss prevention systems and programs.
Help develop annual needs assessment of specific safety training for the Metro Boston Region.
Inspect and coordinate records of safety training, tool & vehicle inspections, and field observations.
Assist in maintaining records and reporting systems on lost-time accidents and property losses- Interact with supervisors and workers in order to identify and correct unsafe conditions or work practices.
Identify loss producing conditions and practices, recommending appropriate corrective action to the Metro Boston Safety and Compliance Manager.
Instruct, organize and chair Metro Boston Safety Committee(s).
Perform routine surveillance and distribution activities to ensure compliance with FCC public/Technical files.
Schedule and conduct safety, DOT, Environmental and FCC reviews. Provide support and assistance to supervisors and managers to correct regulatory deficiencies discovered from internal/external audits. Conduct quarterly facility and field safety audits to ensure safe practices and compliance. Participate in activities of related professional organizations to update knowledge of safety program developments. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

Required Skills:
At least 5 years experience in a safety sensitive position Demonstrated leadership skills. Job Skills: - Basic knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FCC regulations, awareness of NFPA Life Safety Code, NEC Electrical Code, Hazardous Materials management, and fire prevention activities- Ability to work independently and display creativity, exercise sound judgment, demonstrate initiative and possess excellent written and oral communication skills- Ability to multitask- Computer literacy including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OutlookFormal Education/Degree: High school diploma. Degree in safety a plus.Certificates/Licenses: Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.Job Training: Prior field experience preferred. Ability to work overtime, as needed.
