Position Objective: Develops and manages all aspects of business relationships with suppliers on assigned commodities, providing associated internal customers with the best total value for all purchased goods and services. Position Responsibilities: The Supply Base Manager will be responsible to lead a team of Supply Management professionals to create and implement innovative sourcing solutions to achieve Continuity of Supply, Cost Savings, Employee Development, and Customer Service objectives. Will be accountable for managing approximately $35-40MM of project material and services commodity spend. Commodity responsibility includes electronic and mechanical products sourced globally. Responsible to manage the Supply Base to achieve the lowest possible total costs, highest possible quality while maintaining overall delivery performance through excellent supplier partnerships. Will work to improve Tyco Electronics cash management position with competitive payment terms, and vendor managed inventory programs. Responsible for negotiating supplier contracts, and become the Tyco Electronics supplier expert in your commodity. Responsible for forecasting future market trends, and for identifying and developing world-class suppliers. Responsible for implementing cost saving projects across our Wireless Network Solutions business. Significant cross-functional collaboration is essential for success. Responsible for developing and implementing annual Commodity business plans for your Commodities. • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of Supply Management experience; or a Master's degree and a minimum of 3 years Supply Management experience. • Minimum of 2 years direct supervisory experience. • Self-starter, results-oriented, multi-tasking, accountable, and innovative. • Supplier negotiation and contract management experience. • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills. • Familiar with e-Procurement tools such as Ariba.
