Routing Administrator / Pricing Analyst

Responsibilities

 

·        Develop and manage Least Cost Routing tables

 

·        Ensure proper implementation  of routing into TSI      

    switching systems.

 

·        Administration of LCR software programs i.e. Pulse and Lucent Compact Switch routing logic and processes.

 

·        Monitor and perform risk analysis on traffic distribution and route depth to highlight and anticipate possible margin and quality of service (QoS) affecting weaknesses within the network.

 

·        Implement proactive route and load distribution within the TSI network to protect operating margins and maintain QoS metrics within the TSI network.

 

·        Market research – perform and analyze carriers pricing and products

 

·        Develop customized rate and route tables

 

·        Collaborate with Sales team on routes, pricing and other data points relating to customer requirements

 

·        Monitor network/circuit capacity, optimization and utilization

 

·        Collaborate with Provisioning Team on appropriate product offerings and orders

 

·        Develop policies and procedures to ensure network routing efficiencies.

 

 

Background/Knowledge

 

·        Basic understanding of the TDM protocols including CAS, ISDN and SS7 call termination and origination.

 

·        Basic understanding of LNP, LRN, LERG and other jurisdictional determining methodology and common practices for the determination of both geographic and operating carrier information used in routing and billing practices.

 

·        Basic understanding of toll frees origination processes and methods including RESP ORG administration and routing within the SMS/800 system.

 

·        Basic understanding of VoIP SIP/RTP protocols and G.711 & 729 codec’s and their impact of bandwidth and QoS metrics.

 

·        Basic understanding of the requirements, limitations and management of routes in a converged environment of TDM and VoIP services and their impacts on capacity requirements and QoS.

 

·        5 years experience in telecommunications area preferably with a carrier.

 

·        Understanding of telecom billing processes

 

·        Experience with data analysis techniques

 

·        Experience with Business Intelligence applications such as Business Objects or Cognos, etc.

 

·        Database skills - Intermediate to Advanced level in MS Access and/or MS SQL

 

·        Detailed oriented and good organization skills

 

·        Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

 

·        Undergraduate College Degree in Telecommunications, IT, Computer Science, Finance or related field
