Brief Role Description:

The Release Manager will schedule and manage activities in One Communications’ integrated testing and production environments. These environments are composed of multiple databases and application servers and all coordination efforts will involve resources from IT Development, IT Operations, and business groups throughout the company.The ideal candidate will possess a balance of technical skill and project management ability, with technical work being approximately 30% of the role.Required Skills



Key Responsibilities:Maintenance of the test environment schedule – coordination of test, training, and development activities. Requires care to avoid conflicts while meeting corporate prioritiesDeployment of updated application code to test and productions environmentsCoordination of periodic refreshes to synchronize the test and development database and code versions to match production

Position Requirements

Ability to manage multiple projects and/or resources and shifting between projects as priorities change Excellent verbal and written communications skills Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management within the Company Knowledge of source code versioning systems (CVS, SubVersion, etc.) Ability to navigate through and maintain application servers based in Unix and Windows environmentsScripting, application development, and SQL query writing experienceFamiliarity with basic SDLC conceptsAbility to work off-hours at times (generally with notice)Required Experience

Minimum Education:AS/BS in Computer Science/Information Technology preferred Computer Skills: 5 - 8 years of development, system administration, or hands-on analyst experience in Unix and Windows environmentsProject management experience preferred Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Visio, Project and Excel.Bachelor’s degree preferred
