Overview

Job Skills/Requirements
While working out of your home office in Houston, this position is responsible for working with our Partners to achieve Smoothstone revenue objectives. The Regional Sales Manager will take leads generated from Partner channels and assists in closing the sale. Smoothstone partners are an external sales channel made up of outside companies that Smoothstone works with and through to sell its enterprise class and industry leading communications services.

The primary daily focus is to obtain leads from Smoothstone Partners and jointly contact potential clients, make presentations and assist in the overall sales process.

General Accountabilities

1. Responsible for recruiting and training new partners. May also generate own leads in a designated region.

2. Responsible for initiating sales process with partners, make sales presentation to prospects with Partners and assist in the overall development of each Partner.

3. Responsible for improving sales processes.

4. Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding goals generated by management.

5. Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate records of all prospecting activity/sales activity.

6. Provide for and ensure effective communication and interaction between all Smoothstone departments as it pertains to improving Partner program.

7. Maintain success metric data: i.e. overall close rate (# of sales, # of leads), overall sales dollars per lead, Absolute dollars sold, Viral Marketing practices - # of referral leads from clients and prospects, referral rate from clients, Number of self-generated leads close rate, sales dollars per lead

8. Ability to travel frequently within region, to include overnight trips.

Recommended Education/Experience

1. College degree or equivalency in work experience.

2. Minimum 5+ years outside sales experience.

3. Excellent presentation and relationship building skills.

4. A thorough understanding of all local, data and voice products (LAN/WAN, IP Communications or telecom background)

5. Basic knowledge of routing, switching and CPE devices and how it interfaces with the network.

6. Proven track record for delivering excellent service to sales entities and/or clients
