Radio Network Engineer
Job Purpose:To design and deploy radio networks for the purpose of distributing broadband, VoIP, data-streaming, etc.Essential Job Functions: Develop propagation maps with tools like Radio Mobile to design wireless point-to-multi-point radio services to distribute broadband, VoIP, data streaming, IPTV, etc. Develop RF pathing graphics using tools like MicroPath or PathLoss to design wireless backhaul radio links. Plan radio network deployments using radio, antenna, cabling, attachment, grounding and lightening protection equipment. Plan supporting network equipment deployments using remote power control switches, Ethernet switches and routing. Develop comprehensive documentation on the designs, including mechanical drawings, maps, charts, tables, graphics, screen shots, etc. Stay current with existing radio network technologies and details.Essential Job Requirements: Must have good analytical, design, problem solving and technical skills. Must be able be adaptable, self-motivated, and able to act decisively. Must have strong background in Excel, Word, Propagation Apps, Pathing Apps and Web Browsers. 2 years field experience and an Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Be able to climb, crouch and crawl.This position will require working in all weather conditions, including extreme cold and snow.
