QA Manager / Director

The Director of QA will be responsible for planning and directing quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives. This individual will provide management, technical, and process leadership to the QA team. This includes responsibility for all functional testing, load testing, test automation, and code deployments for the eSeries product portfolio.

Responsibilities: Lead a team of on-site and off-shore test engineers responsible for testing all projects and enhancements to the Arbor eSeries platform. Lead a performance testing team responsible for certifying performance and stability of all functional releases of the applications. Lead a team of on-site and off-shore test automation engineers in the creation of a robust, maintainable, and high performance regression test suite for the applications. Provide technical guidance on testing approach and strategy to optimize effectiveness of test process. Define, promote, and ensure adherence to quality assurance processes such as test plan reviews, defect management, risk/complexity analysis, and regression test maintenance. Proactively recommend and institute process, tool, and methodology improvements. Track existing metrics and establish new ones to measure the quality of releases and the quality and efficiency of the QA team. Actively mentor direct reports to develop their skills and careers Regularly keep management abreast of risks and quality issues and how they will impact the business.

 

Requirements: Proven success leading QA organizations on complex, multi-product solutions that include functional testing, test automation, and load/performance testing responsibilities. Strong leadership with the ability to motivate and challenge staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of quality assurance and software development processes and methodologies and ability to improve processes to increase team effectiveness. Understanding of data communications and multi-tier web application architecture and deployment. Demonstrated ability to lead both white-box and black-box testing in a highly complex environment, including embedded software devices Proactive, great attention to detail, results-oriented problem solver, and ability to meet aggressive deadlines Strong analytical skills in assessing user, functional, and technical requirements and documentation and identifying high risk and key test areas. BS degree or equivalent.
