Project Cost Analyst
Overview/Job Description:
Our client, a publicly-traded company in White Plains, NY is urgently seeking Project Cost Analyst. Project Cost Analyst acts as liaison between Engineering, Legal, Finance and Operations departments to ensure accurate tracking of all project costs. The Analyst will create and enter necessary project/job numbers along with original budget estimates into the project cost management module. Company offers competitive salary and excellent benefits.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a college degree from an accredited institution along with 2-5 years of project management or accounting experience, preferably in the telecommunications, technology, or construction sectors; The ideal candidate will have a college degree from an accredited institution along with 2-5 years of project management or accounting experience, preferably in the telecommunications, technology, or construction sectors; Strong familiarity with Accounting principals (i.e. capitalization criteria); Fluency in Excel, Word and Outlook required, working knowledge of Great Plains and Wennsoft preferred, experience with SAP a plus; Strong project management skills, attention to detail, an understanding of construction costs and financial processes from project cost management through fixed asset reporting; Strong communication (written/oral) and interpersonal skills; Ability to handle multiple open deliverables at once.
Responsibilities:Create budgets within the project cost management module. Review executed customer deals and internal capital projects to establish and release the appropriate budgets; Review, approve and process project adjustments such as budget revisions, budget increases and creation of additional job elements and/or locations when required; Partner with other members of the finance, fixed asset accounting, operations and engineering departments to ensure data integrity in support of capital reporting; Provide Field personnel with support relating to the budgets created; Provide support for Procurement department with respect to proper coding and tracking of all project related expenditures; Assist in establishment of guidelines, creation and maintenance of written procedures regarding Project Cost Management; Ensure jobs are coded to the correct general ledger division account for each cost element; Assist Project Cost Manager with various daily, weekly, monthly tracking and reporting requirements; Various Ad Hoc reporting for Finance, Operations, Engineering and Legal; The individual must comply with corporate, departmental and SOX internal controls processes; The individual must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity; Other duties and responsibilities as required.
