Programmer, Payroll (PeopleSoft)

The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Programmer, Payroll for our Payroll Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary:
The qualified candidate will assist business users with functional specifications. Ability to complete technical specification documents according to guidelines and standards provided, create technical solutions to meet business requirements, design, code, test, and manage time efficiently.

Essential Job Functions:
Developing new and modifying existing programs, reports and interfaces using various application programming tools and languages such as SQL, SQR, Cobol, PeopleCode, PS Query; In the PeopleSoft HRMS v 8.3 and 8.9 Application. specifically North American Payroll module; Provide production support and troubleshooting for the day to day payroll operations applications including PeopleSoft, Kronos, OCR (Optical Character Recognition) Timesheets, GL Interface to PS Financials; Provide technical guidance and leadership as part of PeopleSoft project deployments; Being an active participant in decisions affecting PeopleSoft. This includes modifications to the PeopleSoft system, patches, tax updates, upgrades, etc; interacts with functional users and business analysts and understands their requirements and develops reports/interfaces as needed; Contribute to the creation of project planning deliverables such as a testing strategy, conversion strategy, development standards, configuration strategy and an interface strategy. The creation of technical design documents per the business requirement specification documents; Design, Develop, and Unit Testing of functionality identified for development. Travel 5% for training, etc.

Job Requirements:
3+ years experience with Payroll with prominent exposure to PeopleSoft 8.x Familiarity with the business requirements of the Payroll department, specifically in the areas of Annual and Quarterly tax filings, General Ledger, Time Capture, State and Federal Wage guidelines; Significant PeopleSoft testing experience such as performance testing, regression testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing; Experience guiding others in solving complex technical problems in a PeopleSoft environment; Development experience should include PeopleSoft HRMS, PeopleCode, SQR, Cobol, Process Scheduler, Subject matter knowledge in a functional area of PeopleSoft HRMS; Ability to thoroughly analyze situations and document specification for business users to understands, work independently or as part of a team and to handle multiple projects required; Ability to manage time efficiently; Must possess good interpersonal skills and hold a strong sense of confidentiality as it will be necessary to work and safeguard confidential and sensitive information; Self-Starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision; Outstanding customer service skills; Strong team player; Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior PeopleSoft formal training.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
