Production Operations Manager

Gearworks is in need of a Production Operations Manager who will be responsible for managing the Production support for our multi-tier high availability application infrastructure.  This position will be responsible in maintaining accurate and current system documentation, including but not limited to software licensing, server inventory, and status of current support contracts.

Essential Functions:Provide Tier 2 support of all Production systems, including on-call and back-up on-call.Provide production systems support including Microsoft Windows Servers, Linux Servers, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, SAN, etc.Oversee installation and maintenance of Windows and Unix servers, including service patches and upgradesMaintain clear and accurate picture of the production hardware and software used by the organization and ensure we have the appropriate number of licenses.Configure and maintain automated monitoring of Production systems.Manage and enforce the production deployment processAssist Development with capacity monitoring and planning.Maintain production operating and disaster recovery procedures.Manage and maintain a secure environmentAnalyze business requirements and provide technical solutions that meet those requirementsMaintain a high level of technical expertise through personal development.Maintain positive relationships with clients, partners, and vendors to ensure success.Manage pre-production systems support.Special projects as assigned

Experience/Skills Required:10 plus years of technical experience covering a wide range of technologies. (Microsoft Windows, XP, 2003 server, Microsoft SQL Server, networking, Systems Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Systems Backup, Disaster Recovery, Systems Security)Excellent time management and prioritization skillsStrong documentation and communication skillsExcellent interpersonal communication skills including individual interaction; group presentation skills and written communication skills required.Experience handling large projects containing several tasks and solid deadlines.Undergraduate degree preferred. Professional designations/graduate studies strongly recommended.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio
