Principal Application Engineer - Mount Laurel, NJ

This is a senior staff position within the Applications Support team reporting to the Application Support Manager. The individual will collaborate with product teams, operations personnel, product managers, engineering groups and strategic partners to define and design based on requirements including architectural, OSS, performance, scalability, etc. This individual will provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of application engineers serving as a point of escalation and a technical authority.


Major Duties:

- Analysis of problems in design, configuration, data flow, data state within a highly complex multi product provisioning system based on a BEA Aqualogic SOA platform
-Assist with the evaluation, customization and validation of test plans for single and multi system code and configuration changes through the dev, test and prod environments.
- Provide after hours support for code deployments and changes and general support
- Contribute design considerations for new products or architectural changes to existing products
- Mentor Jr. staff providing guidance based on observations and requests as necessary in conjunction with formal group training sessions
- Evaluate and recommend changes to platform monitoring including tools, techniques and specific elements
- Work closely with Vendors to evaluate & track bug fixes and service packs evaluating both benefit and risk
- Participate in a variety of meetings and status calls including projects, troubleshooting & testing
- Serve as a highly available point of escalation on a 7x24 basis

Required Skills:
B.S. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, MS preferred

Minimum Experience:
- 8 yrs Java experience combining development, testing and troubleshooting
- 7 years of direct support experience with accountability for availability
- 5 years combined design and support/administration experience in BEA Weblogic Server
- 2 years combined design and support/administration experience in Service Oriented Architecture,
BEA Aqualogic BPM and Amberpoint SOA Governance products.
- 8 yrs combined development & support of complex high volume transactional systems
- 10 years of combined programming/scripting experience in any of the common languages such
as C++, Perl, Shell etc
- 2 years LDAP or X500 experience
- 5 years integrating Weblogic environments with OSS platforms
