Tyco Electronics is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Design and implement complex IP-based radio systems that satisfy specific requirements with guidance from Lead Engineer and Team Leader. Systems involve M/A-COM and vendor equipment and typically include IP networks, microwave links, wireless data, RF antenna subsystems, 911 dispatch and/or other custom design peripheral subsystems. Provide System Engineering support after contract award, including: final design and equipment selection, implementation documentation, factory support, on-site support, and as-built documentation. Participate in discussions with customers, consultants, vendors and other M/A-COM personnel as necessary to advance projects. Occasional development of new radio system business proposals may be required which would include the development of proposal text, drawings and material content that effectively describes the system and special equipment being offered. BSEE or similar technical degree and technical experience in land mobile radio, IP networking, telecommunications or related field is required. Experience in MS Windows Server 2003; UNIX, LAN/WAN design, two-way radio systems, microwave systems, or wireless data systems is preferred. Must be able to work with other disciplines to develop and implement LMR system designs in response to customer specific requirements. Successful candidate should possess excellent technical and interpersonal skills and have demonstrated the capacity to effectively foster team building within and beyond his/her work group. Approximately 30-50% domestic travel anticipated.
