PMP Certified Project ManagerDescription: This role manages medium to large, moderately complex projects and/or programs. Must possess demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects at one time. Responsibilities include managing cross-functional teams in order to deliver defined project outputs on time, within budget, and with quality results. Program managers plan, organize, monitor and oversee one or more projects to meet defined requirements for business specifications. They have primary responsibility for defining, planning, tracking and managing the project, for identifying key resources and providing direction required in order to meet project objectives. They also ensure appropriate management, customer and supplier involvement throughout the life of the project. This position reports to the PMO (Project Management Office) Senior Manager. Responsibilities/functions include: Manages medium to large, moderately complex projects and/or programs May support Program Managers on large projects/programs Runs projects in accordance with Project Management Methodology Guidelines Coaches to clarify assignments and deliverables; mentors others in project management practices; reviews quality of work and manages integration of team members' work As applicable, analyzes risks, ranks risks in terms of total impact, establishes contingency plans, identifies trigger events and establishes responsibility for initiating mitigating action Identifies and manages third party vendors as required to generate sufficient bids to ensure cost competitive quote submissions Identifies skill set requirements for projects to ensure qualified personnel are assigned to projects Generates and gathers required project information to ensure proper execution of projects Negotiates the performance of activities with team members and their managers if operating in a matrix environment Organizes the work into manageable activity phases and determine an effective approach to completing the work Tracks and reports progress to plan, cost and schedule reporting, and change control Analyzes the actual performance against the plan and makes adjustments consistent with plan objectives Manages relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients and vendors, keeping the stakeholders informed of progress and issues in order to manage expectations on all project requirements and deliverables Arbitrates and resolves conflict and interfaces problems within the project Minimum Qualifications: Proficiency with project management software tools used by PMO Demonstrated expertise in team building and leading teams Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope, and quality while bringing projects to successful completion within cost and time requirements 3-5 years experience in using formal project management methodology, techniques and tools Demonstrated expertise in creating and maintaining project deliverables such as a project charter, project plan, status reports, project timesheets, estimates, communication plan, reports, risk management plan, budget, milestone/deliverable charts Working knowledge of and competency in project management processes, including planning tasks and allocating resources, risk management, issues management, time management, financial management, HR management, working in teams, quality management, monitoring and reporting and documentation Ability to plan and facilitate meetings Adaptability and flexibility including ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change Negotiating skills within a context of political sensitivity and conflicting interests Presentation and written communication skills A technical background sufficient to understand the technologies and technical issues involved with the project and industryKnowledge of project management methodology Exceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience; competence in clear, concise and tactful communication with senior management, clients, peers and staff Budget management skills; ability to analyze and review financing plans and related budgetary information to determine the impact on a project Excellent organizational, facilitation and follow-up skillsVolt is an Equal Opportunity Employer Requirements: Requirements: College degree, preferably in a technical subject; minor or advanced degree in business or industry-related subject is a plus.
