Operations Lead, 2nd shift

Position Summary:
Responsible, under the direct supervision of the Shipping Supervisor, to verify accuracy of all product orders and to package, label, and initiate shipments specific to customer requirements. Record shipment activities in the sales and distribution (SD) module of SAP/r3 or the product management application (PMA) database. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in performance of all activities. Implement and oversee special projects driven by inner-company communications at the warehouse level; i.e. work instructions, 3PL staff support, maintaining lines of communication and reporting any delays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will):
* Quality Assurance: verifies the accuracy of the order to be packaged and shipped, verifies barcode labels, and prepares shipment routing and other documents specific to customer requirements.
* Accurately and completely records each shipment in the sales and distribution (SD) module of the SAP/r3 or the product management application (PMA) database.
* Supports 3PL staff with the common goal of maintaining KPI (Key Performance Indicators) requirements in both shipping and receiving.
* Completes assignments in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner and keeps supervisor aware of work changes, errors, or omissions.
* Performs accurate counting and physical location of inventory.
* Prepares documents and shipments according to transportation schedules.
* Provides guidance to temporary warehouse workers.

Background/Experience to qualify for this position (the following minimal background and skill levels are required):
* A high school education plus specialized technical training or some college courses in business administration, transportation management, or a related field from an accredited community college or equivalent work experience.
* Have 3-5 years experience in warehousing, shipping, receiving, or a similar logistics capacity in support of high tech product sales, service, and repair operations.
* Must be able to communicate effectively with various types of shipping, transportation, and logistics agents and employees within the STA organization to identify and resolve product shipping and logistics issues.
* Must be able to prepare, write, read, and demonstrate effective communications language skills.
* 3-5 years background with inventory based software

* The ability to prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects, issues, and activities.
* The ability to read, prepares, interpret, and understand product shipment information from various order and shipping documents to ensure accuracy and thorough preparation of transportation documents.
* Ability to communicate in writing, or orally, product logistics matters to others.
* Ability to independently follow and execute work assignments to provide effective product shipping and logistics services to achieve business objectives, product delivery, and organizational goals within established time frames and specifications. The ability to follow procedures and make decisions determined from available choices and from well-established guidelines. The ability to analyze situations and use innovation to resolve problems.

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions (the position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment):
* Work is generally performed in a warehouse and repair shop environment.
* Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 75% of work time.
* Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive job stress, fatigue, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and project management stress.
* Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PCs, printers, banding, wrapping, and other equipment commonly associated with warehouse work areas and facilities. No forklift or heavy lifting required, some light lifting (5-15lbs) / product handling.
* Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule.
* Under direct supervision with responsibility to follow and apply general policies and guidelines where work is seldom monitored and consequences of decisions may involve internal losses or costs to correct. Position has access to some confidential data where disclosure is negotiable or the sensitive nature of the data is not evident.
