The Network Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining all server hardware and operating systems that make up the company switch infrastructure and supporting systems.

 

The Network Systems Administrator will analyze and resolve advanced problems associated with server hardware, Solaris/Linux application software, facilitate maintenance operations, performance and capacity planning, disk space management, system documentation and procedures, and other operations as needed.

 

Responsibilities include:

· Build and configure Solaris and Linux servers

· Configure and manage the production monitoring system

· Understand the application hardware requirements and recommend proper server hardware

· Manage the software update process evaluating the criticality and supervising the installation or packages

· Administer Postfix, Sendmail, Apache, Squid, DNS and other network services

· Assist with the support of telecom applications including but not limited to the SMS and MMS messaging systems, OTA platform, PTT Gateway, and VOIP architecture

· Assist with the administration of the Radius and DHCP services for mobile phone data access

· Help with the support and administration of Revol’s IP network architecture

 

Requirements:

· Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred

· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills

· The ability to manage multiple projects independently

· Must have knowledge of UNIX and Linux operating systems

· Experience in Perl and Shell scripting for tasks associated with system administration

· Strong IP networking knowledge desired

· Familiarity with SQL scripting, MySQL or Oracle database operations is a plus

· Proficient in Windows 2000, 2003 server and Windows XP desktop operating systemsCandidates should possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.  Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities are necessary. Time management skills are a must, as well as the ability to be flexible and creative.
